About Us
Our History

New Way Learning Academy was founded in 1968 by two extraordinary women--Jeanette Bowling, a skilled businesswoman, and Evelyn Wiseman, a talented teacher.

This dyamic duo saw a profound community need for a more effective learning approach for children with learning disabilities, and started New Way Learning Academy in space provided by a local church. At the time, there were few resources for families living with learning differences.

After years of borrowing and renting space, New Way Learning Academy aquired its lovely campus adjoining a spacious park in Scottsdale--where the campus proudly serves nearly 140 K-12 students.

Our Head of School, Dawn Gutierrrez, has led the school with passion and professionalism for nearly two decades. Her leadership inspired and nurtured our school community to become what it is today.

We invite you to become a part of this dynamic history, through volunteering your time, sharing financial resources and telling others about our mission to help children with learning differences achieve their potential.
