Description of Services Available:

Summer Program

New Way Learning Academy offers a 1:5 Teacher to Student ratio summer program open to eligible students entering grades 1-12. Both New Way Learning Academy students and students who attend other schools are welcome to apply. The students in grades 1-8 receive individualized academic remediation. Students must select up to 4 hours of the offered intensive small group instruction areas. High School students focus on study strategies and organizational skills in the academic areas of Math, Writing, and Reading. Communication, Assistive Technology and Social Skills will also be emphasized. (.5 credit earned for completion of 76 class hours).

• Program dates: June 9th – July 10th, 2008

• Summer Program schedule: Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Summer Program Tuition - $2,000.00 per student **

** Fees include all materials, supplies, snacks, and 5 weeks of personalized instruction.

Fast ForWord®

Fast ForWord® is a research-validated program developed at Rutgers University to improve the critical language skills needed for listening, speaking and reading. Using state-of-the-art computer and Internet technology, students work at their own pace as the program continually adapts to their unique level of progress. As an option, you can also enroll your student in 2 classes from our summer program for an additional fee (see below).

• Program dates: June 2nd – July 10th

• Fast ForWord® Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30-10:30 a.m. or 10:30-12:30 a.m.

• Fast ForWord® Tuition - $2,000.00 per student **

• Fast ForWord® & Summer Program Combination Tuition - $3,000.00 per student

** Fees include software access, materials, and 6 weeks of supervised training on the program.

Academic Therapy

Academic tutoring and therapy services for grades 1-12 are available in addition to the general summer program. These services are offered on a private, contracted basis for a separate fee and scheduled on- or off-site at your convenience. If you are interested in these services, complete the application and you will be contacted by one of our staff.

• A minimum application deposit of $65.00 per student is required

Students who are not currently enrolled at New Way will need to provide copies of school records, including a current IEP (if available), and any diagnostic evaluations in addition to the summer program application.
