New Way Learning Academy takes a special approach to supporting students with learning differences. We consider students' unique needs and strengths as we develop Individualized Education Plans that help students tackle learning challenges while celebrating learning successes.
Throughout the day, students progress through classes designed to meet their unique individual education program goals and objectives. Students are assigned to homeroom groupings according to age and social/emotional developmental level, and assigned to academic classes according to their present level of functioning in each academic area.
Class sizes range from one-on-one to twelve students or less. The school day includes morning and lunch breaks, which offer fun opportunities for outdoor play and interaction with fellow students and teachers.
New Way Learning Academy features a positive discipline program that utilizes logical consequences, problem-solving strategies, cognitive training and a token economy system to foster appropriate social behavior and improve self-esteem.
We're committed to helping students experience growth and success in both academics and social/emotional development.
